We are doing things a bit differently from the rest thats true and yes there will be some attractive ladies throughout the mag, but you would see more flesh on page three of the sun.

 

What we are about is quality writing and photography with the accent on fun and the enjoyment that fishing is to all of us. You wont find an article in Fish N Tips that tells you how to tie the latest wonder rig for the umpteenth time. Instead what you will find is good stories, humour and the cameraderie that angling engenders.

 

Angling is brilliant fun and its about time that this was represented within the angling media.

Well you know what I'm like, I have to put a magazine down if I see the word Pallatrax so this was never meant for me I suspect

 

If you're going to have any amount of 'attractive ladies' in a fishing mag, why not capitalise on the 13-20 year old pocket money demographic, make it a bit more hardcore, and call it Fish n Nips?

Blockhead Media's other mag, Practical Performance Car, is an excellent read. It has a couple of shots similar to that cover, but is certainly not about sexy women. It's a car mag, but a bit more 'laddy' than the others. What you're suggesting, Anderoo, sounds like a fishing version of Max Power. If Fish 'n' Tips is a fishing version of Practical Performance Car, it'll certainly appeal to some who find the current crop a bit 'dull'.

 

Time will tell, but it's good to see another company trying something different. I heard a rumour that another magazine folded today

Well I will give it a go Mark but will have to see! Nice just to see a publication from a "new" face rather than the same tired out bunch.

 

I picked up a copy (yes actually brought!!!) of this weeks "all new" Angling Times last night but havent got round to even browsing it yet (a sign of how disenchanted Ive become with AM and AT?) I might have a read while I'm baby sitting tonight and see if there has been any improvement....

some good stuff this week in AT with big silverfish revival and a save our sharks section with a poster that if you can put up in your local chinese and send in photo evidence then the AT will send you a free tackle gift ( probably a hook or a split shot ) but its good they are supporting stuff like this .

 

If you got the free uk match magazine that should have been inside theres more stuff on the silver fish revival which is great for getting the bigger picture across on angling instead of carp, carp , carp. steve gardener has a good page on this and mentions the furnace lakes match a couple of weeks ago , i was pegged opposite him then and could only watch as he bagged up on 68lb of skimmers and most anglers his side of the lake caught over 30lb .

You may not have got the free mag thou as you bought it rather than subscibed to it , but plenty of great stuff in the paper itself

 

I agree the new mag is worth a go , and from the picture in the link it looks like some good names are behind it
