Black slugs

i used to have guinea pigs and the smell of their food attracted an army of slugs into our garden every night then we moved house and got rid of the guinea pigs, i tried putting some guinea pig food in our garden and it attracted about 50 slugs!

Cut a large orange or grapefruit in half and take the out the bit you eat, lay the empty half orange/grapefruit skins around the garden with the concave down (orange side up)in the evening and harvest the slugs the following morning. It is a well know way of 'trapping' them. Salt on slugs is the perfect way for sadists to kill them, the dehydrate almost instantly and dissolve into a heap of slime.
