I know it would be a culture shock but ground bait is the #1 "bain" of healthy fish IMO. If the pH is "off" it probably doesn't do any good anyway. Ground bait is excellent algae food (you don't want that!). Also, barley straw has been marginally helpful in many cases. My post is justs "off the cuff" and without source material - just plenty of experience.

 

This article is of supreme importance to anglers who feel any responsibility as good stewards. To often "management" of the water is left and "blamed" on the management. Not true. It is 99% the angler who causes the problem. Having said that, I know there are puddles with fish bio-mass loads that are shameful. They are not the majority.
