The terrible British weather and the 2012 Olympics didn't dampen the spirit of the coaches and National Fishing Month (NFM) organisers this year. Despite the distractions, nearly 300 events took place across the country, attracting close to 14,000 participants across a huge range of ages, ethnic backgrounds and social profiles.

All,

This is a very interesting article and seemingly uplifting subject (which I know nothing about in England - politics - public acceptance - etc.).

My question is also an inditement (maybe(?)). Why don't we have more threads by and about these guys (sponsors and participants) as members of AN? I bet at one time or another they've all visited us.

Maybe, with on exception, most of the regular AN contributors are very anti Angling Trust and anything loosely related to the organisation??
