Christmas trees turned into salmon habitat

A group of Oregon fishermen is turning Christmas trees into salmon habitat and they want your trees.

I wonder if any UK fishery owners do anything similar?

Elton,

This is a very very common practice in the States (although I must admit, I've never seen it it a salmon stream). Just search "Christmas trees for fish" (something like that). The "best" ones for recreational angling in deeper lakes are anchored upright IMO. Many "beds" are marked by the State with buoys. You don't loose your lures as easily.

Farm ponds almost NEVER have any natural structure. Xmas trees are especially beneficial in them.

Makes so much sense. We're getting better at recycling, but the idea of upcycling appeals to me more :)
