A mate called a few weeks ago and told me he had booked Markhams Tracy Jane out of Felixstowe.

Jumped at the chance, as this was the charter that i broke my teeth on, boat fishing wise.

Rod Markham was skippering this day, bonus, as was great to meet up with my mentor again :yeah:

As the team i had joined for the day were total novice, except one. I was detailed to
set of all the rods/reels and tie up running ledgers for each angler.

I'm pleased so say, not one shock-leader knot or any rig knot failed all day :yeah:

Two,never caught fish, lads were set up at the back for Down Tiding.

I explain how this art works, and sure enough they caught the better fish, one lad had the Keeper Coddling, bass and Roker.

As the title, not expecting much and sure enough the Dog's arrived.

Later one of my rods clattered along the railing and bent of as if we were on the drift and i had snagged the reef.
Luckily the Abu Suveran 12-20 rod butt jammed and gave me a mini second to grab it. This fish was going mad, so loosened off the drag and i was
losing line at an alarming rate, tightened up the drag slightly and ping gone.

I turned to the crew and said, no one mentioned Smooth hounds a possibility.

Please loosen you drags, i don't want to lose the rods and reels I'm lending

Changed to single 6/O whole squid on the Abu Suveran Evo Uptider, Avet SX 5:3 MC and 30lb braid

This feisty chap, dived and took line six times, after it saw the sun shine or the net.

(Ignore the hat, it was necessary, ok)

Would have taken with me some Frozen Hermit Crab if i'd known this sport was available.

However, i had smuggled out of Kent, plenty of wraps of Fresh Dungie Blacks, acquired from the most excellent emporium of Micks and Pauline of Hythe.
The kent coast whiting can go hungry HA HA HA.

Mid afternoon, a crack team of Ninja Dungie whiting turned up and reclaimed a fair amount of their own fodder.

Damn, how they do that ?

Any Hoo's, was nice to be back on stacy Jane and a good crack with the crew who are still buzzing today, they have just booked two more trip's
in August.

Sun Stroke receding now, 18 hour day yesterday, 380 mile round trip drive, and a 0600 hrs start for work this morning in knackered.

See you out on the East coast soon.
