Program on Drowning Now on Adventure One.

For those of us with Cable/Sky etc there's a program on now about drowning on Adventure One. Slightly off topic but could of some use.

Turned out be quite interesting. Talked about the signs of drowning, effects on body what lifeguards have to look out for etc. Looked at a cross section of surface watersports like swimming and surfing and talked about how people got into difficulties. Interesting to hear how surfers react when they wipe out and a big wave pulls them under.

 

Showed footage of a packed beach in the 1960's & how 2 kids almost drowned in front their parents (10 feet away) because the parents didn't hear any noise and thought they were just splashing around having fun. Lifeguard spotted them and saved them at the last minute.
