budget bite alarms

I'm hoping to do a few more night sessions this year than I've managed in the past few years. So I'm thinking about a new set of alarms -

Anyone own either of these - are they any good?

Or recommend anything else at around the same price ??

I have a set of sundridge optonics with a wired receiver, still going strong after 4 years anthe hey've been used in some pretty awful weather! I own a set of wireless alarms but gave up on them as the slightest bit of moisture (including morning dew) and they stopped transmitting

The wireless alarms aren't sundridge but were in the same ballpark moneywise.

Like Steve I use cheap Fox alarms and can't fault them.

I have a wired receiver but have never used it so can't comment.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

I would also suggest the basic Fox Micron M. I've had a pair for 15+ years (lost count now!) and they have been faultless, even in horrendous weather. Plus I've only had to replace the batteries once, about 3 years ago :) Extremely reliable, no bells or whistles, and I only paid about £20 each for them new. (I'm not sure what they cost these days.)

Apart from those who want to go to the pub, I do know some people like the remote facility because they can have it set to much lower volume than an alarm that has to be heard from a distance. Ideal for those who are considerate or just plain secretive!

Fox Micron MX here, they're donkeys years old and have been faultless since I bought them. On the rare occasions that I use them overnight from a bivvy (Wingham) I have to turn the volume right up so if I bought another set I'd probably go for a remote receiver.

Those Fishtec ones look good for £30.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back
