mounting a garmin 140 on a P13.

Hi all,

Finally got myself a fishfinder in this cold and quiet time.Ended up with a 140 dual beam garmin.

I pondered where to site it and ended up realising the best spot for me was the far cup holder.

I overcame the problem of it being a deep and difficult spot by making a giant spacer out of a section of swimming toggle and a piece of yellow(goes quite well with the green)chopping board-97p from tesco.

It helped that the base for this display unit is circlar.

Richi,

I passed the wiring and the large connector through a rubber grommet, then glued a piece of the chopping board to the inside of the hull immediately behind the grommet.I had cut a slit in this piece so I could slide the wiring up it and this blanking plate virtually filled the hole.Next I filled up the middle of the grommet with black marine sealant.

Bill,

Have bedded a stout tupperware container for the battery next to the transducer in some marine sealant.

Darnsarf,

I'll try and find the whole quote for you.My version is a precis, there were too many words in the original.

Zzippy,

Nobody seems to take this global warming seriously do they!!

Hope to try it out over the weekend,

cheers Jon.
