I have an old KP Morritts New Popular fly reel and was wondering if any one had info on it. I was wondering if anyone knew when it was first sold, quality and today's value.

todays value under a fiver (or no bids at all in most cases on ebay) unless mint in a mint box ,made from 1957 to approx 1965 as a cheap (and crappy) centerpin but gladding intrepid released an imported popular fly reel later on for a couple of years (just a repainted and badged gladding fly reel made in japan sold under many guises)

as with everything if its really rare you will get money (the new popular certainly isn't) but mint gets a bit more mint in mint box with paperwork gets the best price for "collectable" items.

has it a box? ,i'm after the greeny yellow "quartered" box and the non "italic" black box version ,the actual reel is unimportant
