Yes, if I was hungry enough...and I would also eat horse and dog if nothing else was available...that's if the dog don't eat me first.

Looks like a resounding YES.

I don't actually think that means that everyone who voted YES would eat their capture though. I think that simply means we reserve the right to. Besides, doesn't your license allow for fish to be taken for the pot. I don't have an English license handy. Can anyone clarify?

i and my family have eaten most things in the past and if things got that way again (monetarally) wouldnt hesitate again ,from pet sheep to roadkill deer and pond caught carp (although a certain amoungnt of creativity was needed to hide the mud flavour) to river caught trout its all food.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

To my mind the question has been put wrong, if I was starving hungry say in time of war then I would eat a scaby carp, but the debate that has led to this poll wasnt about that. It was about angler today eating perch and other course fish.

Nick, I thought you started Argmore angling site so you could get away from the likes of Sharkbyte and myself.

Im surprised to see you on the A/N mate!

Sam, the question is quite plainly put, meaning now, not in the event of war, economic disaster, or any other possible misfortune that may befall mankind.

I believe that's entirely determined by the "controlling authority" (your AA in conjunction with the riparian owner/tenant) and local byelaws.

The licence itself says nothing about keeping fish, except that salmon caught before 16th June must be returned. This is a bit weird, as every day is "before 16th June", one way or another.

There's also a bunch of stuff about chopping the heads off tagged salmon and sea-trout to earn a reward for tracking stocked fish.

In the light of a rather more ambiguous question being polled than I would have liked, I felt it necessary to make it clear that the question should relate to anglers killing their catch on a home water, rather than would they try 'Stuffed Carp with Cabbage' in Polish restaurant.

Sharkbyte

Riddle me a riddle.

Do you eat fish of any kind?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Once in a blue moon. Strangely though, I had a Seafood Thermidor (shellfish) in a restaurant just last night.

Might take a few bass, possibly a sole if I can locate them this year.

Wouldn't mind a Thornback in the next few weeks if I can get the boat out.

Pray tell.
