Brolly overnight shelter

Kappa

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get a cheap overnight shelter for short sessions (i already have a bivvy for longer sessions). I was hoping for something that was:

Cheap (around £50)

Very quick to put up (hence the brolly)

Not one with those annoying poles with the elastic string going through them

Big enough for a bedchair

I was thinking about the Daiwa Mission Overnighter but I'm not sure if it is big enough.

Any ideas?

Rich

Not trying to promote but I rather get yourself a Dave Lane STI brolly ( http://www.jktackle.co.uk/acatalog/JRC_Bivvies.html#a185 ) this will sound a little bit more expensive than the Daiwa Mission Overnighter but it is enough room to accommodate the bedchair and other things as well.

It should roughly be put up in a few minutes once you get the hang of it.

Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional

I'll second that, superb kit, very easy and quick to put up. Added bonus is it's HUGE, plent of room for everything.

One good reason to do something is better than a thousand bad excuses not to.

And I use the trakker big Z which is an excellent product (I only use that all year round). Be careful with what you get as you want protection from the elements when you get caught out in the rain. Storm sides or equivalent are a must and I would advise getting something of quality with strong fabric. Buy cheap and it will either rip and/or leak in the first few seasons. Buy quality and it will last you many years.

I use a JRC stealth brolly system that has a zip on front.

Do a search for info, wordbender done a review when they first came out and they are now made with even better material.

I'll second that!

Also, although it's early days yet, there are some products on http://www.bivvies.co.uk/ that may be worth looking at :)
