Hi all, this is only my 2nd post so here so i am quite new to the forum,i have been reading this thread with great interest and the designs i have seen look great,I myself have ready made bait boat plans which i can email to who ever wants a set at £2 per set,I'm in the process of building it myself too but making major modifications, the wooden hull that it shows in the plans i am using as a mould instead to create a fiberglass hull, the hull will then be filled with bouyancy foam as found on many life size craft,I'm also modifying it to hold upto 6 kilo instead of the 3 kilo,I have also decided to make it a twin motor vessel for more speed and even thinking now on altering the whole thing to make it an amphibious vehicle,i have built many R/C cars in my time so this is kinda new territory for me lol.

Hi all,

I'm a bit new here and I just came across this topic.

Here are 2 links to a sets of planes which were drawn up buy a couple of contacts of mine. The first ones are by Shane. He had a small site a few years back dedicated to making your own bait-boats, but, alas, like a lot of good things it came to an end. I then took the bull by the horns and knocked up a forum of sorts where people could still get the same FREE info and plans etc as Shane's old site. I acttually changed the original Word.doc plans into PDF for Shane and it is these same plans which the following link will open. Please feel free in downloading them and using them (but not to SELL on e-bay like some have). These are free and for all to use.

Shane's Bait-Boat Plans

Just one bit of info. If you fancy knocking one up in fiber glass just build the wooden structure of the model in the plans and use it to build a mould.

The second set are for a cat and although the original plans are in German I think they are easy enough to follow.

Hope you find them usefull.

All the best,

Phil - these links don't work :(

If you want me to host the files over here, no worries. This is an immensely popular thread, so it would be nice to make them available.

I was checking to see if they were anything like these ones on Ebay.

I have a copy of the cat hulled plans in german if you want them Elton?

I have no way of hosting them, they're just sitting here on my PC. I was going to post them before, but wasn't sure of the legalty of making them available for the public (as they're not mine obviouslty :D)

So, you've decided on a twin hull design. I imagine it will be a fairly stable boat, especially when the water gets a bit choppy like it does.

I take it you are suggesting a twin hopper design also?

What materials do you intend to construct the boat from? Interesting post, one I'll be keeping my eye on.

Have you any ball park figures of an approximate cost for your design yet? I'd be interested to know what the final outlay turns out to be. I assume it will be markedly cheaper than any shop bought or redeveloped commercially available boat.

Good luck with the design and build.

looks good what are you making it from should work well
