If a race is planned i shall have to bring the Skua and its Delta rig.....! But as it isn't a sit-on-top it will probably be disqualified by you cheating bar stewards!

I like it Mike - landing net handles hey. How long are they?

I didn't know there was a tent repair place in Stafford.

How big is it going to be when you have finished it?

Questions, questions. There are more questions than answers!

Well this thread certainly gets the imagination fired up..

I have been having a look for a while at kayaks with sails and like the look of the sails that can be used to tack up wind.

Can the delta type sails be used like this or are they just for downwind sailing Simon?

Might be another first for the Sidekick....I think I would have the room hmmm............wheres that old tent!!!

Anyway found these sites that may be of interest.

Hey Simon,

I’ve copied the blue print off the DIY sail - The poles (handles are 1500mm at the moment) - but a hacksaw will bring them to the required length. They have rubber handles and other bits slid on and glued - but that will come off easily.

The repair shop is past the prison, right on the roundabout and up the road a bit on the right hand side opposite a pub and shell garage.

BTW - check out this cool system - does anybody recognise the scotty mounting system?

Regards

Mike

Hiya Mike.

One of the mounts looks like a Scotty base mount and one of the others looks like a boat Rail mount.

As for the sails.I think everyone that makes one should have a design Painted on it

I am going to Make a Yellow Sail and then Get my Step Daughter to paint Bart on it :yeah:

BTW...Are you having a clear window in your sail Mike?

You use which ever Kayak you want. But as long as I can use my Co2 set up :headhurt: and the race is only done over 600 yards.
