Richi,

Llangorse is a couple of miles from Brecon. It's a lovely lake in a superb setting that can only be fished from a boat (or Yak) with a good head of decent Pike, Perch. Bream, Roach and Eels.

Do you think I need another shot on my float?

Just thinking further - IF I could maybe meet somebody halfway then It'd be more likely that I'd come. Any yakkers around Leicestershire, Northants etc? Or anyone around here who's happy to share driving/fuel? I haven't seen any other yak anglers about, but i'm sure i'm not the only one. Could maybe bring a mate if anyone has a spare fishing yak he could borrow (for beer?) or I manage to persuade him to buy one by then!

I just don't know how to say no!!

Pike are easy to fish for for those of you who haven't tried - it's only really the unhooking that takes some getting used to. They certainly show you a good fight too. beautiful fish - and get big. Plenty of advice on tackle out there - but as a brief idea, decent line (and strong) and a wire trace on decent rods/reels. Trebles on bait traces, using dead/live baits, or use lures/spoons/spinners to troll, cast etc. Baits - fresh or sea deads. Live baits MUST come from the water you are fishing IF ALLOWED. Spearguns and snorkels are effective but not really very sporting.

Wetter than an otter's pocket.

Just had a look at the rules of the lake that were given to me and it doesn't mention anything about whether livebaiting is allowed or not, in fact they don't say anything regards fishing methods.

It's worth noting though that the water skiers aren't allowed on the lake from Nov 9th till March 14th, So probably best to wait till they've finished for the season.

If I was allowed to come;

would I be able to borrow/buy some pike tackle?

Only 60 miles away fom me!

Sounds like a great weekend and would be nice to catch different species of fish.
