'Iceland has set its cod TAC (Total Allowable Catch) for the coming fishing quaota year which begins on September 1 at 220,000 tonnes, down from 250,000 tonnes for the current quota year.

The country's Marine Research Institute had recommended a quota of 203,000 tonnes, but fisheries Minister Arni Matthiessen decided to tread a path between scientific recommendations and the demands of industry'
