Knot puller

A little while ago I needed new baiting needles so I bought a set. Included in the set was a knot puller, a hook on a handle.

This isn't really something I had ever felt the need for but yesterday I was tying up some carp rigs and as the puller was there, I used it. Wow, brilliant. Whatever did I do before?

I bet there's a few on here who have hooked themselves in the bottom lip tightening hooks - I have.

What's the advantage, apart from a more ergonomic handle?

Well, tying up carp rigs I can hook the hook in the forceps handle and the hook puller in the loop at the other end, allowing me to get some serious tightening, particularly on the combi rigs where I am a bit nervous about the albright knot.

Having it on the bench is also a visual reminder to tighten and check my knots properly.

I've always used the big split ring on my Swiss Army knife. Ps isn't it pronounced pulla?
