A Nice Catch of Mullet

Guest challenge

I would say that if a boat was to gross say £50000 for his trip; he would have £20000 expenses that would leave him £15000 for the boat and £15000 for the crew of five.

That’s £3000 each for say a ten day trip.

Of course if you happen to be a skipper owner you will get your £3000 wages and £15000 boat share. your bank payments come out of the boat share (if you have any) and your maintenance bills etc. so if you divide up the original £1000000 gross earning for the boat on a similar trip grossing on £50000 trip then you will be able to work out more or less what they earn?

I know that they have to buy quota to be able to gross so much. Am knot sure if that costs comes out of the expenses or the boats share? I would imagine that it goes on expenses.

Regards.

Going back to the 'lets get out of the EU' posts from a couple of pages back - Getting out of the EU will NOT stop the French, Dutch and Belgians coming into the 6-12 mile zone as they currently do. The historic rights were nailed down in 1951 before the EU was invented and there's nothing other than drawing up a new treaty that can be done about it.

Then the only thing that will do it is quota. fixed by the eu and some one with a big enough pair of balls to deal with it.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

How about getting out of the EU and then buying some torpedoes?

That rules out all of our current political pansies then dunnit!

If I ever get the hang of it they'll bloody well ban it!

Iceland and Norway didn’t let such triviality’s get in their way when they declared their 200 mile limits. But then again their politicians have balls.

We don’t have a common oil policy or a common gas policy. So why do we need a common fisheries policy?

Equally, the Jersey commercial claim that they have historic rights.

Yes, although Jersey have subsquently created another treaty (the Bay of Granville treaty) which has now worked against them as although they have effectively kept the French out of their waters, they have in turn hemmed themselves in. If you look into the whole 'JE fishermen denied licenses to fish GU waters' thing 70 of their fishermen applied, but most were turned down due to a lack of track record, or the fact that they were taking the p1ss eg. a 15ft boat applied for a license! The is an excellent history of both treaties here:-

Thanks for that it was very interesting. How have jersey hemmed themselves in, the new treaty is of benifit to both and also guernsey commercial? I don't know of licences issued or denied however if we were to look at all of the commercial licences issued for all countries, i bet it would make interesting reading to see how some came to be issued and some not.

Hows the latest illegal fishing saga getting on has it been resloved yet? The 28 tonne bass one.
