"Real Life" is sometimes funnier!

I may not have mentioned before, but the wife trains dogs to assist disabled people, they can be very helpful and very clever, our current pup can bring a crutch on command and is currently being taught to take washing out of a washing machine! I always say "good luck with that!" as the wife has been trying to train me to empty the washing machine for 35 years and still not got there!

Anyway her current charge is a beautiful black lab who is doing very well, today, down town and walking past a cafe with tables and chairs on the pavement, not sure what the name is for that, and the pup wearing her green coat, she, the lab, gets barked at by a jack, woman next door to the handler says "stop that dog barking, can't you see that woman is blind!"

I respect the right to vote, but........

Good luck with the new pooch.

Let me know when she has a GSD that can iron shirts.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I think that two socks can be found Andrew, just not ALL the pairs, there is only ever one sock missing, just a different one at a time. Thanks for the good wishes.

The lack of an opposing thumb is the only thing that prevents a task such as that, believe you me.

The group recently trained an assistance dog which has enabled a 21yr old girl with severe Disabilities to get out of her house, get a bus to town and venture around on her own for the first time in her life, that one fact is enough to keep the whole group going, I am sorry if I read into your post some sarcasm, perhaps that is just me.

Perhaps you display the opinions of some who have no real understanding of just what these dogs can do.

When you have a few moments, do a google search on a disability assistance dog called Endal! Then have some thoughts when you are doing your own ironing.

1) That dog was amazing.

2) Thank my lucky stars that I do not require one.

3) Wish that you never require the help of one, remembering that some very nasty, horrible disabilities are hanging around your system waiting to take over even if you manage the rest of your life not to be hit by a bus!

Pah, thats what i meant, two odd sockls always see to be there.

I know i visually impaired couple, both totally blind, who rely on their dogs. Amazing animals. Once they see the harness they know its work time, once taken off its play time. One is a chocolate lab and the other a golden.

if you only owned only two colours of socks the third one will always make a pair

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

My wife was walking our little pooch, 'PJ' and came to the local camping area next to the beach. A couple of poms were camping and the lady waved to my wife and they started chatting. The bloke came out and his first words were, " have you got a doggie bag with you?" My wife acknowledged that she did and, as the dog was on a leash, asked where the dog poo was...The bloke pointed to some lumps of poo and my wife told him that it was wallaby poo...
