If you think bag limits are just for Bass...............

Recommended Posts

I've heard from the CFO of Cornwall SFC today.

Apparently (after a lot of debate) they have only so far resolved "that the Committee receive a report from officers and a draft byelaw in relation to the management of bass, for discussion at a future meeting of the Committe" (with no definite date by which the report should be delivered to the committee).

The CFO also states that the point at which a byelaw might be advertised for public consultation is 'many months away'.

So they are going to receive a draft byelaw, once it's been written, at a future meeting? The same process that precedes all new SFC byelaws.

Just out of interest, who suggested raising the MLs for bass from 28cm to 36cm and creating the nursery areas all those years ago?

Go on then Toerag put us out of our misery if you already know the answer to your question. Whats your take on raising the limit to when the bass actually breed to try and enhance the stock? Cheers.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

So from your point of view Steve catching them whatever the size should be ok regardless of sustainability, now are people going to delibrately kill the small schoolies just to prove how right they are? i've seen a few posts in here that suggest just that to me!

I agree that the MLS should apply to the French as well, either that or keeping them out of certain waters, but things have to start somewhere and as we know this government will roll over to any european govornment faster than a French soldier to a German.

Looking at ways of reducing discards may be a way forwards may it not? or are the blinkers well and truly on and 'the way it is now is the way it will always be' mentality going to send the fishing fleet into history? Maybe a little extreme, at least in the short term i admit, but thats the way i can see things going in the long term.

:headhurt: Tell you what why not scuttle them and give the sea back the start of a reef to replace all the ones dredged away :headhurt:

If I ever get the hang of it they'll bloody well ban it!

By the way anyone fancy sponsoring me in the WSOP?

Hi Steve Good, same question to you as my last post, but reading this one i take it you are against any increase. It's not all free to the french as the guernsey commercial sell a significant amount of uk caught fish to them. To prevent unnecessary discards, perhaps defra will ask for the net size to be altered.

Roryh, regarding your post 101 i am aware that the french goverment are still being fined by the eu significant amount of monies for the ilegal fishing practices of their fleet. Untill told otherwise it is continuing.
