Hi jack ,

the fishing at the moment is excellent i had 5 lads who chartered the boat yesterday it was the first time they had been sea fishing as they normally go fly fishing but they werent disapointed once again the inshore wrecks were fishing very well they had non stop action most of the day cod, ling and pollock but mainly cod .

They were using shads most of the day but one guy put a pirk on and some hokias just to try and instantly got 3 cod at once which werent that big and he reurned them safely that was daves first drop of the day so i told him to change to a shad and instantly the he started getting quality fish overall they had a cracking day and will probably be eating cod fillet for the rest of the year.

One of the local trawlers which was trawling inside of where we were fishing had a cod yeasterday just short of 50lb in the trawl how did we miss it.

Sounds spot on mate, even though i used to live in whitby, i never went out on a boat, always just fished from the shore, used to remember watching all the charter boats come in with plenty of fish, that was back in the eighties though, good to see the sport has improved for you up there

Will be in touch next time im up there.

Regards

Jack

Been out today and dave hythe from sussex proved to be in the cod grove he has never fished up north before and was amaized how good the cod fishing is here at whitby he said he had never seen so much cod in charter trip before ,we were only fishing 4 to 5 miles from the shore the funny thing is he said dont you catch cod only in the winter i replyed no we have them all year round there is no season here for cod we have probably best inshore grounds for cod througout the uk many miles of reefs and wrecks which litter the coastline if you know where to look at the moment it is bananaza time right here only a few miles from whitby harbour.
