A couple of us were talking about a piking trip to Farmoor during the Rutland day so I thought I’d give the rangers a ring to see what’s what, there’s not much information on the website.

  • Season - 1st November to end February
  • £15.00 per person from the bank, an extra £20.00 for a two man boat
  • Life jackets provided
  • Boats fitted with petrol engines, they have one electric motor which can be pre-booked (might be extra cost)
  • No trolling
  • Only livebaits supplied by Farmoor can be used (presumably at extra cost)
  • Sea deadbaits only
  • Minimum plastic lure size 6 inches

It’s advisable to pre-book, the first two weeks of the season are already full. Farmoor 1 is more likely to produce, Farmoor II has the bigger pike.

Well I am up for trying it and Matthew and Steve W as well I think whatever dates then?

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

Anderoo hoping to suss out big Perch potential really found some 6 " paddle tails on e bay and chuck a live dead out under a float to watch whilst jigging away

As a plus hotel Rusty takes us on a tour of Wantage's finest ale house and we have a ruby

Belated on here but mucho thanks for organising the day at Rutland did enjoy it despite our lack of fish ,managed a confidence boost in the method with a big stripey from the Yak Sunday morning but despite the conditions looking spot on my only fish of the morning.....funny old game this fishing lark
