Hiya lads,

Don't go panicking about your age men, Im 51 and certainly not an olympic athlete.

I was going to suggest meeting up this weekend but according to the forecast it isn't going to be ideal, better if we wait for a window in the weather (today would have been ideal).

Just out of interest, do you all have the appropriate kit to go to sea? ie, wet/dry suit, pfd (personal flotation device), paddle leash, foot wear, and hopefully hat, sunglasses and barrier cream!

Can you all swim a few strokes (not that we will be going into any great depth of water to start off, capsizing drills is something you need to be able to master, and being able to swim will make you feel a bit more comfortable while in the water).

Hi Gareth

I'm not panicking, just didn't want to give the wrong impression. I have all the bits except the paddle leash, which is a quick fix!

Cheers

Brian.

Same here with the equipment - seem to have spent as much on the extras as the yak itself. Am going out today for a test paddle to make sure it floats :D

Brian, if you want to fish over this way - Carms/Pembs - let me know as I'd be happy to meet up.

Hi!

I am gearing up for kayak fishing this summer. I live in Kidderminster and the South Wales is my closest sea fishing area.

I will buy a kayak after I try a few at the Exmouth meet in May. I've already paddled an Elite 4.5 :

and a Big Game:

I also joined the local kayak club to learn to paddle before going to sea.

I'll be able to join you on the weekends and Wednesdays.

I've already ordered a pair of dry trousers from Reed Chill Cheater - made to measure  and bought a pair of neoprene boots and socks.

So what kayaks do we have? I have the Wilderness Tarpon 120 angler edition.

Hi to you all

I got a tarpon 100, dont know what it will perform like, read up on this kyak before buying it and all the indications are that it's ok ( I hope ) I wanted to get something which all the familly could have a bit of fun on ( no, not all at once).
