Interesting

I thought most of the muppets were to be found on the coarse fishing forum!

I agree sultzer my traces will nearly all be single baited hooks but I will stick in the occasional muppet or 2 hook rig if things are slow, which they might be, I'm not sure if the sea will be clear enough for 'sight' feeding yet. so nice big smelly baits will be the order of the day i thinks.

I rarely use bait when the waters clear; usually just use some variety of "feather", hokkais, mini shrimps etc. Partly this is down to the joys of mussell juices in the small cockpit of the kayak!

Started using leadheads with jellyworms/shads last summer and they worked well in clear water. Liked the clean hooking they gave too.

Bait does sound the way to go from the boat in April though. With a bit of luck I might get out before the boat trip and have a chance to experiment.

I always used baited muppets / feathers fishing out of Stonehaven and they always outfished plain baited hooks. April might be a bit early though

I think there maybe worth a try, but i'd still bait the hooks. I have had sucess on plain orange/yellow muppets but not until june when the sea has been crystal. Have seen mini shimp lures baited with prawn do well also.

Jaffa If you do get out on the Yak let us know how you get on.
