Be positive Matt, its been raining so much its like living in an aquarium back here on the beach

Tried to get out Sunday, got all loaded up and headed for easthaven but given the combination of mist creeping down from Arbroath (im sure they have a haar factory there somewhere), the cold and some whitecaps I chickened out of it for the first "shakedown" trip of the year.

Could see a boat out off Easthaven that looked to be the Mari Dawn, hard to say at the distance though, so perhaps Jim has been out?

Had a couple of quick shore sessions near the Ferry but blanked.

Hi Matt

ahh, the fog! That brings back memories of crew change day!! The only place where you can have the thickest fog and a 50 mph wind, at the same time!!

Looking forward to the 9th, I'm off the the big city today (Aberdeen) so I will pop into Somers and see what they have in the way of bait, but I am usually happy with mussel.

Looking forward to finally meeting up with you all

Dave

I agree dave squis/mussle cocktails will be my plan of attack. At least when you get 50mph fog you know it'll blow itself out eventually friday was one of those days where the wind sock was hanging limply so we had to wait for the sun to burn it off.

Getting excited know first boat trip of the year was wondering depending on tides do any of you fancy a beach session after maybe usan or even the tay for some nice easy sport, only thing with the tay is you need a ticket. If we get a night time high tide behind Ballies night club in arbroath could even be hit.

Was thinking about Norries earlier suggestion to stay over after the fishing. Might now be able to do this. I was tempted to try the specimin pond at Kingennie for big rainbows. Anybody know any thing about it ???.

High tide at Dundee on the 10/4 is about 5 pm is it worth trying at Dundee ?? for flatties etc.

Ps I would be happy with squid/ mackerel /mussell as bait in my experience lug/mussell outfish everything else on the East fo cod. Cant dig lug in Hamilton though

A bad days fishing is better than a good day at the office. Tight lines all.

So are you up for a shore session in the afternoon Usan is a low water mark very rock so you'll need rotten bottoms, Tay is nice and easy, there is also elliot (arbroath beach)with the chance of a bass or two same for east/westhaven might be a little early for usan yet mind
