Bye bye BBC

I've not had a TV licence for 6 years but have continued to catch the occasional BBC program on the iplayer. Over the last year especially, even that limited access has dropped off and I've found myself frequently going weeks without watching any BBC content.

Catchup comes to an end on 01 September 2016 though, so no more BBC for me, which is rather annoying because I will still be forced to fund the BBC through direct taxation.

Interestingly, lots of students forgo a TV licence and with no iplayer option to keep them hooked on BBC content and a marketplace where there are dozens of streaming services available, a future where more and more people leaving education never buy a TV licence and actively vote against funding the BBC through taxation seems inevitable.

I have a love/hate relationship with the BBC.

I love the nature and i think the drama is very good but the repeats get on my wick so i perservere as i do believe that if we lost the BBC we are kind of losing a part of our history as it is also respected through out the world which is rare now that anything British is respected.

last night at the proms, land of hope and glory?

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

ahhh,

What will happen if I don't have a TV licence?

It is a criminal offence to watch “live” television without a TV licence. It’s also a criminal offence to possess or control a device which you know or reasonably believe will be used to watch “live” TV without a TV licence. You could be prosecuted and fined up to £1000 (plus legal costs) for these offences.

just by owning the hardware is enough to break the law, without the new regs coming in.

I could buy a ticket to see it live and have a slap-up feed for the price of a licence.

You're wrong about the hardware requiring a licence. I have a 50" plasma hanging on the wall - it's just not connected to an antenna and has never been tuned in.

Look at your cookies on your pc theres bbc ones i expect ,if your tv is connected to anything that can go online (inc satellite ,dvd ,smart box etc) you can be sure the bbc are watching (and have been given the power i expect) to cross reference your ip address with your address ,no licence i am sure you will be on a list

You maybe lucky to own a pay as you go phone but i am sure those on a contract are on the list as well just in case as on demand are now subject to a licence

And: or record programmes on any channel as they are being shown on TV or live on an online TV service.

Yes gents, I know the rules and I don't cheat.

Yes, the BBC does place cookies on your PC and does record any access to live programming and will very soon record access to all programming. They also have a legal right of entry to your home to check.

Not a problem. Like I said, I don't cheat.
