Was this the greatest ever festival in history?

I remember my uncle going when I was in the states and disappearing all in all for about a year!

 

Some great photo's here which show a completely different time in history and attitude although many say it only happened due to the Vietnam war.....you decide?

Woodstock in 1969 was certainly something unique and exciting if drugs, sex, rain, overcrowding, music, etc. appealed to you and you were one of the 400,000 who were actually at the event. I was a few thousand miles west of there and missed the whole thing.

 

Ah well. I regret missing performances from Janis Joplin and the readily available sex (before some idiot invented AIDS) but probably not much else.

It's a sad thing that Hendrix and Joplin decided to cut their lives shortly after....
