Careful if its anything like the one i had in the 60's you could pull the boat to the bottom if you got caught on a wreck ,it couldnt bend with me hanging on it mind you i was considerably lighter then ,might get a gentle curve now .

I did try using it for piking but like today's beachcasters sorry carp rods it was a bit unfair on the pike LOL

I remember buying a nice (then) solid glass boat road which could be used for piking but you wouldnt be holding it for long it was damn heavy ! Not sure what happened to the cane one !

 

Back from the pond and as i guessed no whisp of nags head baccy issuing from a briar pipe ,not a hint of canvas nor tweed and certainly no sowester or deerstalker hat to be seen but had a nice stroll there and a lift back from a horsey lady in her horsebox so back earlier than usual ,pond frozen and the only fool on it was me which at this time of the year is completely traditional!

I should have mentioned it's THE rather than A traditional fishing forum ,i should really use capitals but i am lazy

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

You can use what you like ,i am certainly not traditional in any form ,i use glass purely because weight isnt an issue in how i use a rod the only advantage outside of weight is thinness which is only an issue in sidewways winds (more obvious using a pole i guess)

As for casting i prefer glass going by the anglers using carbon rods i can outcast most with lighter setups underarm theres nothing more annoying than hearing peoples rods swishing on a dead quiet days fishing all you hear from mine is the plip plip of the shot hitting the water

 

The site looks ok especially as theres a morritt section but i guess last years registration attempt was diverted to the bin either my reputation preceded me or the old boys didnt want their earlier posts ruined by fact LOL

PS incase one looks in a truespin is a morritt reel but its not an intrepid nor is a monarch nor are the three they dont know about and no mention of a chapman The Shelford in the rod section LOL

 

Not abctually sure what "traditional" is ?is there a cut off date when it ends and non traditional starts ,perhaps pre war? But then why have a morritt section its post war ?!?
