The Sea Fishing Forum - What's Happened?

Seems the Sea Fishing Forum is not nearly as active as the Coarse Fishing one of late?? :marinheiro:

Maybe it's just simply because of the inclement weather here in the UK & no one's getting out to fish in the Beautiful Briny.

I see the last Sea thread was posted 20th Jan'.

Sea fishing in the UK this time of year is the pits.

Scratching around you are targeting Rockling or a Dab.

Bring on the spring run of codling.

There was no autumn/winter run.

The entire forums been pretty much dead for a few years now. Course fishing section used to be way more active than this.

every section used to be more active than it is now!

It's not just AN - online forums in general seem to have declined as "social media" becomes more popular - logging onto a forum is more work than just browsing your facebook feed . .. . . .

I just stay logged on - why wouldn't I?

True, even the pit is quite at times but is still one of the most active fishing forums out there. I think our relaxed rules help a lot. we dont lock threads because of disagreements and any issues with the forum are promptly fixed by myself. I notice we still cant upload pics here since the last update, got to say its stopped me from adding any of my latest photos in the photography section because they are that good (imo) I refuse to put them on photobucket and I cant link from my facebook because its private and I regularly delete photos from that to stop facebook having rights over them. ive also seen anglersnets facebook page and its crap, like all of facebook. scroll through heaps of shite memes and ads or if something good does appear the comments section is a sea of people tagging their mates that its not even worthwhile trying to get a conversation going. I dont think social media is entirely to blame for poor forum activity (but it has contributed) I think as soon as the mods and admins dont take an interest in their own forum thats when it starts to go down hill and thats not a criticism of AN btw just a general observation.

not always guaranteed, anglersnet regularly logs me out, no rhyme or reason. I just had to login.
