I have heard of people using the pole on the river before and I dont doubt it can be effective on its day. I used to have a tricast pole but I sold it last year as it wasnt seeing use. I am ok to use a feeder rod just about so I can grin and bear it for now I may indeed get another pole nearer summer as I have a great swim on the Ribble that I think it would be devastating on. I have waded the swim many times and know it inside out and I can imagine this method being very good on there. I am planning to try to get out again on Friday but not sure where just yet.
