Phone: I do all of the food shopping and cooking in our house.

I write a menu for the coming week.

I write a shopping list based on that menu.

I buy what's on the shopping list. Nothing else.

If I see something on "Special offer" I'll buy it if it's something that I usually use, I may not need it that week but if it can be frozen it goes in the basket.

i don't see that as responding to advertising, it's just bringing my shopping forward in time for less money.

Theres little that cannot be frozen ,scotch eggs taste strange though the outside is fine the inside fine but strangely theres a rubbery thing in between!

Packaged meat though comes out meat plus the injected water loose in the packet so you can see just how much they pump into it!

The biggest problem is freezer burn so i vacuum seal as much as possible to get rid of the air ,pre frozen stuff lasts a little while but eventually suffers as they use a different atmosfere (some inert gas or dry air?) Rather than remove the air and generally the wrapping is bulky to whats in it so repackaging makes more space etc

If it's got E941 in the ingredients bit, it's nitrogen, used as an anti-oxidant.
