I have fished for burbot, one weekend from Friday afternoon to Monday morning, in company with the late Dave Marlborough and John i'Anson, at the last known location  in the Fens where burbot were caught.  Like Chris Yates, we caught no burbot, but I did catch more eels than I had immediate use for.
