I think they may if they have to, yes. They are desperately trying to reduce public expenditure, and that's been their priority over recent years, but their historical position on "Laura Norder" has been hawkish.

 

I think Labour is more likely to want to spend money, but less likely to want to spend it on security services.

 

Look at the friends McDonnell keeps. He's denying supporting their demands, but I trust him as far as I can throw Diane Abbott.

And speaking of Abbott, she signed an early day motion in 1989 calling for "the abolition of conspiratorial groups like MI5 and Special Branch which are not accountable to the British people". And the whole of the Labour Party is terrified of doing anything that might upset any "communities".
