PS - re the Goose quills I chucked in - one of them I tried took water after an hour or so, might need more varnish before you try them.

 

They were what I won on eBay some time ago.

 

The long porcies were my late Dads & seemed a shame for them not to be used any more - they're next to useless on the commercials I fish these days.

 

Was nice to keep, but - Nicer still that they'll once again be used for what they were made for.   :)

Sorry about the 10 inch+ description John, longest was actually only 9 & 1/2".

 

I did have a couple about 12 inch but remembered afterwards I'd given those 2 to a guy on the bank about 2 year ago.

 

Miles too big for most uses anyway IMO.

 

Would have needed near on a fivers worth of shot to cock one at today's shot prices lol.
