Made clotted cream last night

My cider is made from supermarket apple juice with tannin and malic acid added to make up the difference between desert apple and proper cider apples. Results aren't quite on a par with real cider made from apples but they're much better than kits and you can do it at any time f the year.

Strange you should mention ginger beer. I've just had one of those with lunch - home made of course.

Alcoholic or cordial?

I have had so so results with alcoholic most attempts have not been good but the best one was in our last house a 5 gallon milk churn sat on the oil fired central heating boiler came out perfect but all other attempts using that or heating mats failed it just never tasted right.

Cordials easy and i used to use a sodastream to make a nice fizzy ginger beer

The sodastream is long gone it was expensive to run but i have got round making fizzy drinks for the g/kids by using 2ltr bottles of sparkling water ,they cant tell its not real especially if you use the pukka flavours

Been 20 years since the mrs moaned about the smell of yeast i used to brew lots of things and eventually went to the dark side of distilling for experimental purposes only i hasten to add and for my own use only

Alcoholic. Coopers do a kit but the results are so sweet that it's undrinkable. I do however get good results by using a kit along side a 5 gallon batch of natural ginger beer made with 1.5kg's of fresh ginger, powdered ginger, cream of tartar, lemons and citric acid along with yeast and sugar. The results are excellent with ice and lemon.
