new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

In April 1984 WPC Yvonne Fletcher was shot outside the Libyan embassy in London. At the time I was in Tripoli, working.

We watched what was happening on Libyan TV and what we saw was heavily armed military and police surrounding and besieging the embassy in an unprovoked attack, until the gallant defenders were forced to give up. Strangely, there was no mention of WPC Fletcher

Not supporting or condoning the violence used, but just for the sake of balance.

The reporting was more than a bit one sided. Not all of the voters were pensioners or women only interested in peaceful voting. The Police had almost 500 officers injured, I assume that this was not self inflicted.

Some of the images of injured women and children were afterwards found to be faked.

The Guardia Civil was sent in because the local Catalan police refused to do their job

It is not uncommon for states to have quasi military police forces, but the G.C. are a police force, not military.

Catalonia is not a State

I agree that the Spanish Government reacted badly, but as is usually the case, there was a lot more happening than was reported in the UK media.

You say potato, I say potato.

I did not nor do not rely on media reports, YouTube or similar to gain information, where I can I watch things live, when this is not possible I read something and then, if it interests me I research the subject to gain my own conclusion. I have no doubt that a lot of information, video, photo’s etc published post are fraudulent, when are they not? I am aware of the number of reported casualties, somewhere in that figure is the truth, I am also aware that, amongst the ‘Police’ injuries are possibly a number of Police injured by the Civil Guard.

In this Country there is a distinct difference between the Police and the Military, ALL Police Officers are ‘Constables’ it is an ‘appointment’ in law, all officers derive their authority from this, even the Chief Constable of a force carries a ‘warrant’ this simply states “This identifies (name) as a Constable of (name) Police.

Military Police carry no such warrant and have no authority other than contained on their identification which states (name, rank, service number) is acting upon my orders and within my authority and is signed by The Provost Marshall.

The Civil Guard are located in Barracks which also serve as Police Stations.

Members of the Civil Guard took part in an unsuccessful coup some years ago despite their supposed allegiance to the King, preferring instead to follow the orders of their commanding officer. (Reasoned above.)

The Spanish Civil Guard are also members of the European Gendarmerie, did you know that? One of, I think now, 7 member states, they are currently deployed in Afghanistan, absent from this EU ‘unit’ is the Germans, as, (quoting from Germany’s own decision not to join,) “ Germany’s Constitution does not permit the use of a military force for police services”

Now is the point where research becomes opinion, as in all things what is the end game, perhaps a European Police Force will be required when the law of any Country is not its own but the law of the EU, now that is a frightening thought, I wonder how UK citizens would feel if fox hunting was legal because bull fighting is legal, contrary to this, how will Spanish Citizens feel when bull fighting is illegal because fox hunting is?

Going on from this, if you have time before you give reasons why the Civil Guard IS a Police Force, also have a look at; EU Battlegroup, EU Maritime Force or the European Defence Agency amongst other proposals and indeed things already implemented that most are unaware of.

Last point, I did not refer to Catalonia as a ‘state’ but Spain as a ‘member state’ of the EU.

Huge, my remarks were not solely addressed to you. Other people said things as well.

As I stated, I, in no way, condone the violence meted out by certain sections of the National Police and The Guardia.

Just making the point that it wasn't quite as one sided as the media would have you believe.

I also think that it is stretching it a bit blaming the EU for it.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

I am not blaming the EU, but showing my reasons why I classify the Civil Guard as a 'Military Force' the only comment I recall coming from the EU was from a MEP who said, "Let them (Catalans) have a vote, we can always ignore it!"

Pretty much the same with our government or councils having 'consultations' with the public ,if 100% of the public were against it theres no need to heed what the public say its purely the process they need to use to get things done .

Same with planning laws ,i know on at least one consultation about a changing room being built it was 100% against it (retrospective as well it was already built!) But its still there it was approved!

I wonder if Nicola Sturgeon is listening....

You bet she is :D If Catalonia gets its' independence, you can be sure the lemon sucker will be banging on about another indyref (if she hasn't started already). It was her harping on about Scottish independence that lost her 1/3 of the seats in the election, will she learn a lesson from that? I doubt it very much.
