Ken,

I believe that is probably on the Illinois River not far South of Chicago.  Those fish are certainly a problem but NOT carp. Silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) is a species of freshwater fish and is indeed a cyprinid, Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is the widespread freshwater fish AN anglers usually target.

The video, IMO, does not reflect a "good time".  I have been whapped in the chest by a silver carp and not an experience I wish repeated.  The vibration of the motor causes them to jump.

Nothing to do with carp but you have to watch out for those Eastern Europeans.

There is a new form of robbery taking place that is being copied around the country where loan male drivers are distracted by a young Romanian or Slovakian lady who dances suggestively in front of the car whist they are finding their keys in the supermarket carpark.
Once the criminal has the drivers attention, she moves in closer and makes smalltalk whilst caressing his body.
If the poor victim "responds", she will undo his trousers and perform an act of oral sex on him whilst going through his trouser pockets and stealing his wallet.
Some drivers are so distracted that it's several hours before they realise they've been robbed.

This is not a joke.
This is real.
I myself was caught out by this heinous charade on Thursday, Friday, twice on Saturday.......

All,

Hugh - GROAN! (an oldie but goodie).

These fish are so prolific they have actually become a profitable commercial enterprise.  Albeit at the expense of sport fish but I guess we should be happy someone has made lemonade from lemons.

While the harvest is around 15 million pounds today the potential is for 10X that much.  Enough to interest larger corporations.
