I was playing some old tracks the other day and came across this song by Melanie (1970) and it got me thinking about our language changes since then. So I thought I would bring a bit of lightheartedness to this forum.

I have chipped in a few to start off:-

Was ' In the future' is now 'going forward'

Was ' passengers' is now 'customers'

Was 'member of staff' is now 'colleague'

This are only some and I open it up to the erudite amongst us to add more

There are no prizes, it is just a bit of fun for Christmas

Over to you !!!

The two best times to go fishing are when it's raining and when it's not

In other words Driver, dont overload your passengers.

An airy-fairy, uncosted, virtue signalling plan without clearly defined aims or way of getting there is now a "vision".

Positive discrimination (illegal) is now "Positive action" and legal apparently.

An inner city ghetto is now a multicultural utopia.

Thinking twice before attending public gatherings and surrounding Christmas markets with steel and concrete is now "not letting terrorists change te way we live".

Was Christmas - is now "The Festive Season", for fear of upsetting other religions.

It's OK to have "Happy Diwali" bunting up in Asda though.

(It's still Christmas at our house!!!)

What other religions could be upset at calling Christmas, "Christmas"?

I know loads of Sikhs that put up a Christmas tree at Christmas and have a traditional Christmas dinner. I know some Tunisian Moslems who put up Christmas trees at Christmas.

PS What's wrong with Diwali? I like my Diwali me.

Was customers is now custards

All customers are custards until they pay the invoice. :whistling:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Punters was what bus passengers were called in Scotland going back at least forty years.

PS What's wrong with Diwali? I like my Diwali me.

There is Nothing wrong with Diwali & Nothing wrong with Christmas either - It's the PC brigade trying to preempt what people from differing cultures may or may not be offended by.

Like the woman who was told to hide a Crucifix down her blouse as it MAY offend Muslim customers!! - Unless of coarse they were expecting Dracula as a surprise guest!!

There are Christians who are more likely to be offended by someone wearing a crucifix than a Moslem. It's Moslems you are talking about, Why are YOU being so PC? Call a spade a spade.
