TAT targetting a fishery owner

TAT (the angling trust) are supporting an action against a fishery owner as he does not share their views. Despite TAT being paid many thousands of tax payer's monies to run a programme to stop illegal fish theft, they support action against a fishery owner who according to them is discriminating against one of TAT's employees.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/dec/18/fishery-could-face-legal-action-for-sign-banning-eastern-european-anglers

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

We know you dislike TAT Barry: but even without taking into account today's PC world, they do have a point, it's quite blatantly racist.

If the fishery has a problem with fish theft there must a be a better way of dealing with it.

Landlords can no longer put signs in their windows saying "No Blacks or Irish", this is no different.

It only says that anglers from those areas can't go. it doesn't say all Poles or all people from Eastern bloc countries.

I see nobody's kicking off about the ban on children or dogs, it refers to all children, and all dogs, so if there's a case for discrimination, then surely that must be it.

I don't know why they don't just put up a sign saying that people will only be allowed on the site, 'at the managements discretion'.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Maybe that sign should have said "Random Vehicle & Angling luggage checks are carried out" " - "Failure to comply with these checks will result in a Lifetime Ban".

That way, the owner would have been able to target Anyone he suspected without all the adverse publicity.

Also then makes it possible for the police to be involved re any fish theft!!

Any angler worth his salt would comply, bearing in mind there's clearly a problem at many venues.

Let's not dress it up guys - there is a problem here!!

Discouragement is surely partway towards a solution.

Doesn't take long for word to get around + plenty of Handy Lads on most venues for back up.

All,

OR maybe these the TAT and fish theft are independent issues.

IT IS RACIST whether you say it or publish it. It would probably be a good idea for them to add "Niggers, Chinks & Frogs will be closely watched"

I'm going with Gozzer on this one. It has to be some "IDIOT" carp pond.

Phone -

Fish theft is a huge problem in the UK mate - & yes it's mainly by east Europeans (mainly Carp are the target)

Just think on Phone - Fishery owners livelihoods are at stake here.

Rather think the "N" word is inappropriate on a friendly, online forum!!

For two pins, I'd report you to Admin' !!!! In fact - I have!!!!!!!!!!

There are words - Yes they are only words which are Nevertheless unacceptable these days!!

It's not about what I think Phone - It's more about the Integrity of the site & what it stands for!!

To be fair - the owner had the decency to quote the countries of origin of the anglers he didn't want on his Land!!

Not the colloquialisms !! (N's - C's & F's if you like)

All,

It's only proper to "profile". You're right Martin, it's certainly acceptable to use profiling, even our illustrious politicians, when they carefully craft their words in order to get a good response from their prejudice constituents.

Modeling TOTALLY independent variables (stealing fish and fishing) to a profile is very clever. Who would have ever thought "X" must be related to "Y".

Perhaps more tomorrow - I'm using the time tested AN rule of counting to "10 before send".

Phone

You just said it Martin, It is what you think

Martin - if Phone had used the racial term you are bothered about as slam against folks of a particular ethnic origin I'd agree it was offensive (although I wonder that you aren't equally offended about the others in his comment that apply to French and Chinese folks). However, he did not.

If it becomes a problem, the forum software offers the option to render certain words into nonsense (such as N***** or N-bad-word) or similar) when they are typed in a post. I don't think we have reached that point yet.

As to Phone, I don't know him but I gather that he is (as I am) what can be termed a WASP (white anglo-saxon protestant) although in my case, substituting "heathen" for "protestant" would be more accurate. That said, WASH would seem a bit silly so I won't object to WASP.
