TAT targetting a fishery owner

On the south coast poaching by eastern Europeans is endemic and the various arms of the law, police and courts are just not dishing out suitable deterrents.

It's certainly not a problem limited to the south coast. It's no longer worth fishing the middle Severn for pike. Carp have been emptied from Birmingham's park pools and trout stocked in reservoirs are more likely to be removed with a set line than with a fly.

There are carp still in my local pool but only because a group of locals had a "chat" with the EE's stringing lines across it one night.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The sign is clearly illegal and the owner an idiot.

Yes & Yes Ken.

What he should have done is put a sign up at the gate AND on his website is :-

Pleasure fishing is by prior arrangement by telephone ONLY.

That way he gets to say who can fish & who cannot (if say he recognises a cerain accent) & just say "Sorry mate - All the pegs are taken today".

They'd get the inference eventually - but could prove nothing!!

The problem is that a lot of these places are run with low margins and he's caught between needing custom and not being able to afford to loose fish to thieves.

Had he been smart, he'd have used a temporary sign to highlight the failings of the police in protecting his business and ridden the wave of publicity.

That sign has given him more publicity, than any other could have. It's happened often enough in the past, same type of fishery, same type of wording on the sign. Me being slightly cynical thinks that publicity was the main reason he did it.

As to his business, most on here know my views on this type of fishery. I believe that stripping them of carp, by EEs, otters, cormorants, or any other method, would be doing both the angling, and natural world, a great service.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
