Can anyone identify the plant on the right of the picture on this page?

It looks a bit suspicious to me.

Ken,

Yes I googled. Probably not what you thought.

Kenaf is also known as Deccan hemp and it can actually grow in many countries all over the world. Kenaf is prized for its fiber and oil content. As a matter of fact, it was used 3000 years ago in Ancient Egypt to make cords, bags and sails. Today, its fibers are used to make twine, rope, cloth as well as paper.

That's it. It's so obvious. Whoever bought the greenhouse has decided to knit their own handbag.

It is a rather odd choice of image for a horticultural supply company that touts it's "By Appointment" logo so proudly.

I might drop them a line for a laugh...

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Barry,

It is currently the rage. Legalize marijuana is the hewan cry from all quarters. Even the city of Washington DC is legalizing it although it is still forbidden by federal law. (Don't ask me, I just live here??)

As for me, I have ample sins without starting a new one.

A trivia question. Did you know 95% of the King James Version of the bible are printed on hemp paper.

Ken,

That is a great find. I've shared it with folks in my home town of Weston MO.

In 1853 Weston had 300 steam paddle wheelers go from Weston to Cincinnati Ohio. Cincinnati was the rope making capitol of the world (maybe US). Those stacks of hemp you see were called hives and were meticulously loaded on the boats.

We still have that hemp growing wild. There is no commercial growing of hemp in Missouri that I know of right now. This hemp does not contain any THC, or very very little. The kids call it ditch weed. They won't touch it because it gives you a fierce headache without any beneficial effects.

During WWII many tobacco farmers grew both hemp and tobacco. They had the skills and labor forces to handle both. The story about the amount sent to the rope makers vary widely. It was a top secret war effort. After the war life went back to normal again. Tobacco farmers still today.

Ironically, the opposite is probably true, Along with the THC, cannabis contains a bunch of other compounds that appear to offer some protection against psychosis and may have other positive health effects. The efforts of breeders who want ever stronger highs have resulted in strains with very high levels of THC but almost none of these protective compounds and psychosis rates are through the roof.

The irony of the great America "medicinal marijuana" ruse that people are obviously smoking to get high and they are selecting modern strains rather than the wild versions that are weaker but may actually help.
