You don't often see frozen food, laundry products and tinned goods in the reduced section.

 

My order included 28L of apple juice for making cider, 10L each of still and sparkling water, ground coffee, pasta, washing powder and a bunch of other stuff that is bulky and or heavy.

 

Most of the stuff never drops in price so I'm basically getting 58 pints of cider for less than 8 quid.

Just had the pre-delivery notification through.

Two substitutions, one of which is inconsequential but the other replaces a medium chicken with a smaller one at the same price.

They've also told me that the three "Help for heroes" Easter eggs that I ordered are unavailable.

They have however honoured the voucher code - which means that I now have a near 20% discount, even after paying the £2 delivery fee and loosing a few pennies on the chicken substitution.

OH theres bargains to be had everywhere ,sainsburies 1kg tubs of laundry brightener couloured and white and washing machine low temp bug remover 50p a shot ,i bought 5 of each and gave one to each daughter and kept the rest.

You dont see them unless you go personally and grab what you can before they are gone

When we had the car we got the final reduction on chilled 2 or 3 days a week and filled the freezers for very little

So much so we were ditching veg for meat ,dont freeze scotch eggs the skin goes very funny !!!!

 

I havnt drunk coffee since the start of the seventies when kenyan blue mountain disapeared ,cannot be arsed to drink it again if its back

Looking at the original thread, it looks like it stopped working somewhere between 8 and 5 hours ago.

After the price of my usual coffee went through he roof, I started scouting around for alternatives and tried lots of supermarket coffees. The one in my link is cheap as chips and surprisingly drinkable.

Lidl Java Sumatra ground coffee in the green foil bag is quite good. All my friends like it. One calls it "the best cup of coffee in Southampton" when he comes to visit.
