Wait until we are trading under WTO. I hope you can toch your toes and have shares in KY. ;-)

Again. an example of the sort of short sighted lack of business savvy displayed by those tendering the contract. The "savings" that prompted them to use an EU supplier over a British one will soon go bye-bye.

Lets hope the contract specified production at the UK facility.....

I wonder how big the overrun will be to supply the french government to hand out to the residents of Calais?

The weird thing is Chesters, I think you actually believe that.

The answer is to move the border control back to UK soil, where it belongs so that you can take back control.

That wont work if france refuses to take them back ,and france knowing this will allow anyone to try.

Why shouldnt i believe it ,you can buy forged ones ,you can buy real ones from dodgy passport office workers so logic says if its worth money it will be true

Theres no-one more corrupt than a person with power and those wishing to make money under the counter

If you want to stop illegal immigration you imprison anyone found with an illegal ,you fine the lorry owner 10 times his salery ,tou confiscate the lorry and if its a company lorry you fine them a few million quid.
The ferry is confiscated and then you will see things change.
As for the channel tunnel stop the train in the middle and refuse to let anyone in for the slightest excuse and put them on the train going in the opposite direction ,if france resists close it completely then see how france gets a taste of its own action

Our government is to soft ,go down the warren in folkestone illegals are living down there in the open and i doubt any beaten to persuade them to go back
Probably knowing the warped minds of council officials theyre probably supplying meals on wheels and a laundary service

Sorry, once they are on British soil and they request asylum then they become asylum seekers and their case has to be considered.

What has France got to do with it?

That is a serious allegation. If you have evidence to confirm that you should go to the Police.

Because they're supposed to claim asylum in the first safe country they come to so if they have come via France then France isn't dealing with them correctly when they enter France.

Does not matter. Once you have the Panacea called Brexit all your woes will be behind you and you'll be in a new land overflowing with milk and honey.

I'm not commenting on brexit on just replying to sportsmans comment about why asylum seekers coming from France should be Frances problem not ours, this ignoring of the rules and not processing them correctly by the French has been going on since long before any brexit vote took place.

France isn't the first safe place that they come to, is it?

They will have been through 3 or 4 borders to get to France.

Why should France be the ones to control them.

BTW, France takes three times the asylum seekers that the UK does already

Edit

The Dublin Regulation is quite straightforward. Refugees/immigrants in Europe do not get to choose where in Europe they live. The State where they first enter Europe, most commonly Greece or Italy, is responsible for evaluating their right to asylum and remains responsible, even if they have left to go to another country. The individual should be returned to the country of entry. So, if someone gets into the UK, they should be evaluated and returned to Greece or Italy to have their right to asylum decided upon. This means that the must reside in that country.

In practice, this results in Italy and Greece being penalised, both socially and financially, so if any individuals want to leave , the governments are likely to turn a blind eye.

This is how they subsequently arrive in all of the countries that were not their point of entry.

BTW, contrary to what the Express believes, it is only a small minority which wish to enter the UK, usually because they speak English or they have family or friends in the UK

So, the answer is clear. Sort them out in a camp in Folkestone and send them back to their point of entry, which will not be France.
