When The Express was warning of catastrophe, I thought we'd dodged a bullet (The Express has the worst weather forcasting record I've ever seen) but it seems that things are going to get interesting and the Met Office have issued a yellow warning starting tomorrow afternoon.

Yup, we're on the Cumbria coast just south of the Solway again, and looking out for it on Monday evening, and Tuesday. We were here for the one last year, and then in the Galway forest for the one that came later that year. It's become a central part of our holidays, with the in-laws. We meet up around that area because it's roughly half way between us and the Scottish lot.

Surf forecast for south Wales is for a sixteen and a half foot swell on Tuesday and as it's a bit early in the year to blow the leaves from the trees, it'll probably just blow the trees over instead.

We had that last year when staying in a cottage in the Galway forest. We got within 1 mile of the cottage and found the road blocked, by a fallen tree. A detour of about 15 miles was the only other route to the cottage, and that thankfully was clear.

Looks like The Express effect worked again. The low is now only 987mb and although there's a good flow of air from the south, there's not much to it.
