Boeing 737 Max 8 tragedies

The heavier engines fitted to these aircraft were obviously aimed at Airlines for better fuel economy.

These heavier engines make the nose of the plane tip upwards but a computer then makes compensatory calculations to correct this.

This didn't happen on 2 occasions, killing over 340 passengers/crew in total.

The computer kicked in repeatedly but it became clear to the pilot it wasn't doing its job!! (there was NO pilot error in the judgement)

When this happens, surely the pilot should be able to identify this & once identified, disable it then take over using Manual Controls!!

OK - maybe a bit oversimplified re Protocol & all that but clearly a case of the Computer becoming the Master!!

Computer thought the nose was up but was in fact Level - thus putting the aircraft into a Nosedive.

Listening to the Ethiopian lass today and speaking to #1 Son, although it is early days and full report is not out, But, the crew correctly identified that the MCAS system was at fault and turned it off! The software then decided the Pilot should not have turned it off and switched it back on again, The Pilots desperately searching for the problem then went down another avenue looking for the error.

So yes, not just a case of software being in control but the software was able to override the Pilot.

Pilot should always be able to tell when the computer is Bo***cks, then be able to take the corrective action himself!!

Think of the fun when someone with vested interests tells the gov we all will be safer in computer controlled cars and they become mandatory!

Unfortunately modern anes computers cannot be turned off and the pilots tried their hardest to counteract the dive ,computer won!

Ford pinto or zafira2 of the skies? Where the fault was ignored because it was expensive to fix? Let them burn attitude
