All,

Nothing like a little foreign skirmish to keep the American military manufacturing industry strong and healthy

Surely they buy from the Russians....

Ken,

Probably, but once again the military industial establishment whips up a lather in the pentagon and they go to work "just in case".

This fiasco was started by the semi-president supported by the US. The other semi-president is on board with the Russians. Looks like it will be a win - win for the suppliers.

Well yes, the ability of the military machine to buy off politicians is frightening.

Chesters1,

??? - You got me - ?????

Venezuela is one of the world's largest exporters of oil and has the world's largest proven oil reserves at an estimated 296.5 billion barrels (20% of global reserves) as of 2012.

We get about 7% of our oil from Venezuela. Venezuela, on average, exported about 500,003 barrels of crude a day to the United States in 2018.

The United States has considered moves to cripple Venezuela’s oil shipments, which account for nearly all of the country’s exports, in response to the reelection of socialist President Nicolas Maduro, a vote that was widely viewed as a sham.

Washington has recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s head of state.

A large proportion of remaining exports, which go to India (via Rosneft) and China, and are tied up in loan repayments.

Phone

This will be an interesting thread as the US gas (petrol) prices are bound to go UP Up up to the benefit of Chesters1's favorite pals.
