It will get worse unless we anglers don't soon start to pull together and stop this.

Two Scottish boats have landed a total of 14 tons of Bass (Some good size fish in double figures sad to say) and have been fishing 6miles off Start Point .

They have also landed 3 Thresher sharks and a large number of dead dolphins have been found in the same area by local fishermen.

The UK boats' owners are going for a judicial challenge on discrimatory grounds regarding the pair trawling ban within the 12 mile limit.

This could drag on for a long time.

The inshore netsmen have landed as much as the Scots but the last week has seen no fish caught outside the 6 mile limit, long may it last.

A French trawler has been caught fishing inside the 6 mile limit and arrested.

It was escorted into Plymouth and the total catch of 17 tons of undersize fish have been measured ,together with false accounting etc.

This arrest was made by the Navy!!!!!"

Blanking it's a skill, any daft idiot can catch fish.

I once started 3.30am, with a prefect sunrise, carried on all day till 6pm. Not a knock, nod or even a likkle crab. People passing, asking the same question. "How are you doing". Nothing at the moment but it's out there and I'm going to get it, would be my reply. What a great days fishing, I mean Blanking.

Have a read of some of my fishing adventures, this year. The Good and the Not so Good.

I don't much like this demonic singling out of 'Scottish' boats, as is something of trend on various forums. I am not ashamed to admit to a blanket dislike of all trawlermen. Chances are that these boats, though registered at a Scottish port, are owned and crewed by individuals who reside outwith Scotland. I don't take exception to English owned boats registered in Scotland...get the message laddies?
