So, if you fish anywhere in Europe, either destroy or make sure the tackle used is properly disinfected. Please for the sake of everyone.

Looking at other fishing chat rooms it looks like this problem is on our doorstep. If you run searches for 'topmouth gudgeon', 'stealth parasite' or 'rosette agent' on google or yahoo, this looks like a very serious problem as it is already affecting carp and has wiped out salmon in the some parts of the States. People are also saying that its already in lots of watercourses across the UK. There was a detailed report about this in the Telegraph last week but I can't find any information about what's being done to tackle the problem. It sounds to me that this could make the cormarant problem seem insignificant!
