Shockleader

how much heavier than my mainline should my shockleader be?

15 lb / 18lb main line, minimum 60lb leader.

i always go on wieght...ie what lead your using...usually as a rule of thumb i aim for 5 lb per oz cast + 10lb...double for a pully rig....thats for casting anyway.

Yes I should have related to weight cast.

4/5 oz leads, 50/60 lb leader.
there.....thats better :D :D

Arhtur, I use 15lb and 18lb with a 50lb shockleader.
I've never had one snap on me yet
maybe when I cast more than 35yds I might think of going heavier. :D

I have always been told to try and do 10 lbs for every ounce Ive stuck to that(with no fatalities as of yet) just incase...

Oh and my ig body an extra 10 20 lb heavier than the shockleader say 70-80lb trace body this to compensate for crimpws, knots and wear and tear of rocks which all weekens the trace slightly

Another two penneth :) ....the correct leader is one thing, but check conection to the lead after every cast, the tie to the lead is where most crack offs occur,.....unless your fluffing a lot of casts :D
