Hi Craig,
If it is Jonchery in the Champagne area of France, 4 of us went about 3 years ago at this time of the year and I think it was organised by a David Payne. The lake is quite secluded but then, you could not fish where you wanted to as you were allocated set swims (not my cup of tea)but on well prepared platforms. We caught a good number of doubles twenties and thirties but I found that English & Dutch carp put up a far better fight. On the site there were facilities for sleeping, cooking, showering and a toilet and fridge. The pads which were supposed to be castable from every swim were not but at the end of the day we all caught some good fish and had a good time. Provisions etc can be obtained from the nearest village, about 5 mins drive. Have a good trip and I envy you.
Regards,
Carpinjohn.

Forgot to add tip, if you can find and cast to the pads thats where the best fish are and we caught using a wide variety of boilie flavours but if you use fish flavours watch out for the catfish. We never caught them but had a number of screaming runs during some nights which we feel were catfish. Good luck.

Hi Craig,
2 of the guys had the peg nearest the entrance which did'nt fish too well whilst another guy and myself had the peg on the other side but at the accomodation lodge end. The guy with me had the side of the peg furthest away from the lodge and could reach the nearest set of pads and that's where most of the best fish came from. Anyway good luck and if you are ever in Penzance drop me a message as we have a B&B (darent mention the name), good sea fishing and a local day ticket lake with carp to 30's.
Good luck,
Carpinjohn

hi john

got back from jonchery last saturday had a brilliant time.the bailiff was a bit of an idiot but the fishing was really good i fished peg 4 with my brother, which was the next swim up from the house swim on the right hand side.i had 3 doubles 21 20's, 20 30's and a 41lb mirror most fish fell to maize over partiblend, however i did have 5 fish on activ maple 8 including a 35lb 6oz common. i would recomend the lake to anyone but would book the whole like we did

cheers for the offer of b+b and day ticket lake might take you up on that if were in area

cheers

That sounds like a great trip you had Craig.I have done a lot of fishing in France and been lucky enough to catch some big fish but never had a catch like that.Well done.Bet you will be going back there! What did you pay for the whole lake?

Thats not too bad a price. We charge a grand aweek and you can only fish eight comfortably.Might have fish to 63lb but you couldnt get numbers like you caught. Is it natural or has it been heavily stocked?
